[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1711037] Re: Screen intermittently flickers

2017-10-08 Thread Scott Palmer
These seems to be related to what is in monitors.xml.
When I deleted that file the flickering was gone but my monitors were out of
order and alignment.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1722084] [NEW] touchpad not detected on Aspire ES 15

2017-10-08 Thread Benjamin
Public bug reported:

Touchpad simply not detected on "Aspire ES 15" also referred as
"ES1-522-61GZ". there seems to be no existence of the touchpad at all.
It was working fine on windows. After reading a bit and trying few
commands found there
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection#In_case_your_Touchpad_doesn.27t_work_at_all_.28No_response_from_the_Touchpad.29

I tried Ubuntu 16.04 live, 17.10 live and 17.04 installed. Most problem
/ solutions found online concerns buggy drivers & conf. but not much
about undetected hardware. I have a wireless mouse so its not the most
painful issue but this is annoying

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1720890] Re: vulkan-smoketest segfaults steam vulkan games segfault

2017-10-08 Thread Timo Aaltonen
no, missing extensions shouldn't make it crash, and even so it's an
upstream bug and nothing Ubuntu can do about but pull new versions when
they happen.

Not sure that has anything to do with  this bug. When switching prime
profiles a restart is required (gdm3 only), that's a separate
longstanding unattended to bug.

Maybe something went south for you when trying to do the switch via a
log out?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1721394] Re: Cannot open nvidia-settings on pc with a hybrid device (or use prime-select), missing python

2017-10-08 Thread Yuriy Padlyak
After python-minimal installation and switching to intel the suggested relogin
doesn't work. I've tried reboot, but now the setting doesn't start again. This
time with a different error:
ERROR: The control display is undefined; please run `nvidia-settings --help`
   for usage information.
