[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1705951] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 freezes soon after login.
Old NVIDIA G73 (GeForce 7600 GS) here. Fresh install. Freezes with Wayland and xorg using the nouveau driver, also seeing various flashing and other issues when using the recommended nvidia driver (+ freezes). Did not see any of these issues on 17.04 or earlier versions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1705951 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 freezes soon after login. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1732195] Re: Mouse cursor keep flickering on primary monitor after a second monitor is connected via Displaylink USB3-TO-HDMI adapter
Wei Cai, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. In order for DisplayLink to review this issue, could you please cross post this to them following their instructions from: http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/757047-how-can-i-report-ubuntu-issues-to-displaylink Please provide the URL of the post to them once submitted for tracking. ** Description changed: Alienware Alpha R2 - Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS Primary monitor is connected to Nvidia GTX 960 Secondary monitor is connected to Startech USB32HD4K (Displaylink Ubuntu Driver version 1.4.210, http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu) If only one monitor is connected via Nvidia GTX 960, it is totally normal. If the second monitor is also connected via Startech USB32HD4K, mouse cursor flickers frequently and can even disappear on the PRIMARY monitor (the one that is connected to Nvidia GTX 960). On the second monitor, everything is fine. - One interesting thing I noticed is that if I set rotation in "All - Settings"->"Screen Display" to "Clockwise", "Anti-clockwise" or "180 - degrees" (just not "Normal") on the PRIMARY monitor, this issue is - mitigated. + WORKAROUND: In the GUI go to All Settings > Screen Display > for the primary monitor change Rotation from Normal to any of the following: + Clockwise + Anti-clockwise + 180 degrees ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+13ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-38.42~16.04.1-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-38-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity_support_test.0: - + ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.10 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true Date: Tue Nov 14 23:59:01 2017 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: xenial DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: evdi, 1.4.210, 4.10.0-38-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: - NVIDIA Corporation Device [10de:1406] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) -Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:072b] + NVIDIA Corporation Device [10de:1406] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:072b] InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-11-14 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170215.2) Lsusb: - Bus 002 Device 002: ID 17e9:4301 DisplayLink - Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub - Bus 001 Device 003: ID 8087:0a2b Intel Corp. - Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:c534 Logitech, Inc. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1732173] [NEW] Java GUI apps do not work properly under Wayland
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 17.10 with Wayland enabled. I noticed Java GUI apps running with native look and feel (i.e. Swing based apps with GTK look and feel) do not properly work, i.e. fonts are not displayed properly, windows sometimes do not draw correctly and other problems. If I switch to X11 all works fine instead. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1708874] Re: Touchpad stops working after a few seconds
I have similar issue on Ubuntu 17.10(Ubuntu on Xorg), 4.10.0-37-generic running on: Manufacturer: Acer Product Name: Spin SP513-51 The touch-pad freezes, though not immediately after reboot, but every 2-3 hours or so. There are no records in dmesg at the time of freeze. Logging out and back does not help, only rebooting works. The issue persists in Ubuntu(Wayland) as well. Changing kernel did not help. Please let me know if you need any logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1708874 Title: Touchpad stops working after a few seconds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1708874/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
