[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1686081] Re: If -synaptics is installed, GNOME Mouse & Touchpad Settings doesn't work
Jeremy, That may be due to the gdk bug mentioned in the gnome-control-center patch. I tried working around it there but probably need to propose a better fix to gdk (which I had started but became too busy to finish). Although I do have an alternative gnome-control-center fix in mind (less elegant) that would avoid the gdk bug better. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1756204] [NEW] Poor performance
Public bug reported: After an indeterminate amount of time, the refresh rate drops to about 15 fps until reboot. The problem appeared with 17.2.x. It also happens with 17.3.3. Initially reported with ubuntu-bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1752830. Decided to report against mesa because of the dmesg log. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1752437] Re: [HP ENVY x360 - 15-bq102ng] Touchscreen does not work
Marc Rene Schädler, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Given I'm not seeing evidence of touchscreen recognition, for now I'll move to linux for further review. While waiting, it is best to continually test the latest mainline kernel (now 4.16-rc6) as it becomes released, and report back the results. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1752437 Title: [HP ENVY x360 - 15-bq102ng] Touchscreen does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1752437/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1752145] Re: system freeze after full screen video viewing with Xorg on ultrawide monitor
This bug is making it hard to work... I just had the system freeze up on me again after less than 5 minutes. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1752145] Re: system freeze after full screen video viewing with Xorg on ultrawide monitor
More symptoms: I can kill gnome-shell with "kill -KILL" from a ctrl-alt terminal. The GDM screen then appears as usual. Logging in again, however, seems to hang on a blank purple screen. The GDM screen appears normal but moving the mouse over the top-right corner to activate the menu results in EXTREME lag. The menu is usable but doesn't update for dozens of seconds after clicking on it. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1756053] [NEW] Thrown out of session into login screen with "inactivity" warning
Public bug reported: I upgraded to the 18.04 beta yesterday, which fixed all my problems with hibernation on my DELL XPS 9350. Most other things have been fine until ten minutes ago, when I was without warning thrown out (forcibly logged out) of my Gnome session. I was typing away on my keyboard in WebStorm when suddenly the screen went blank and I was back at the GDM login screen. There was a brief warning on screen about the system going into hibernation (or standby/suspend - don't remember). When I logged in again, it was a fresh new session, so all previously existing windows had been closed, which meant I lost work. I am not sure where to go about debugging this and providing more information. `dmesg` seemed pretty normal. I experienced something somewhat similar on 17.10, where I upon logging in would create _an additional session_ (I could still see the old processes in the process list), but this seems to be something different. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1753776] Re: Graphics corruption (or distortion?) in login animation to Xorg sessions
OK, this seems to be a Xorg bug in the "-background none" feature. Upstream bug reported here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105518 Less likely but still possible is that mutter (used on the login screen) is corrupting the framebuffer and "Xorg -background none" is then innocently copying the corruption. A workaround (which at least will avoid more bug reports from users) is to remove these two lines from gdm3: g_ptr_array_add (arguments, "-background"); g_ptr_array_add (arguments, "none"); That will reliably replace the corruption with blackness. Have a nice day. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #105518 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105518 ** Also affects: xorg-server via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105518 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1753776 Title: Graphics corruption (or distortion?) in login animation to Xorg sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1753776/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
