Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1798739] Re: [amdgpu] All video games freeze 5-10mins into play

2018-10-26 Thread Adrian Barbuio
So I became somewhat frustrated by this issue and used new installation
media to completely reinstall ubuntu 18.04, removing the old partition and
starting again from scratch. I installed steam as soon as the
re-installation process had been completed, and downloaded/played Kerbal
Space Program. I had exactly the same problem as before, the screen cutting
out minutes into the game.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1799545] Re: System shutdown/reboot when starting a game since Ubuntu 18.10

2018-10-26 Thread Forage
I replaced the PSU to rule out the possibility of a broken PSU just in
case, hence the delay. While it was a risk, I needed an excuse you buy a
quieter one anyway. And guess what? No more crash. While I find it
difficult to believe that a software update uncovers an issue with the
PSU, I suppose I just have to accept that it was slowly dying.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1799920] Re: External Dell P2715Q doesn't wake up from standby anymore after 18.04 -> 18.10 upgrade

2018-10-26 Thread Cedric M
Hi,

For some reason apport-collect just exit at the end, and doesn't send anything
to launchpad...
No error, no crash -- just exit to shell when being instructed to send the
report.

$ apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-core 1799920
The authorization page:

should be opening in your browser. Use your browser to authorize
this program to access Launchpad on your behalf.
Waiting to hear from Launchpad about your decision...
$

(access granted to launchpad, answer the few questions asked, click
send... and it just exit).

Is there anything special I can provide manually?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1784928] Re: Bug in LLVM 6.0, fixed in LLVM 6.0.1

2018-10-26 Thread Peter Würtz
Why not? It's a legitimate bugfix release of the LLVM 6.0 branch, which
Ubuntu 18.04 claims to use, not a backport. Also, quote: This release is
API and ABI compatible with 6.0.0.

We are really going to be stuck with this in an LTS(!) until 2020?
Shame.
