[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1830792] Re: [i915] Rotated display is overscaled and overdrawn

2019-05-30 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. Your new kernel log shows different crashes in the i915 kernel
driver when using Wayland. In particular, the kernel driver seems to
think the monitor has been unplugged/replugged:

[2.606884] drm_fb_helper_hotplug_event.part.38+0x97/0xc0 [drm_kms_helper]
[2.606887] drm_fb_helper_hotplug_event+0x1c/0x30 [drm_kms_helper]
[2.606903] intel_fbdev_output_poll_changed+0x6b/0xa0 [i915]
[2.606906] drm_kms_helper_hotplug_event+0x2a/0x40 [drm_kms_helper]
[2.606910] output_poll_execute+0x19a/0x1c0 [drm_kms_helper]

If you did not unplug/replug the monitor while the system was running
then this sounds like a faulty cable or faulty connection. Please try a
different cable and/or reconnecting the existing one more firmly.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1831162] Re: Xorg freeze

2019-05-30 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Unfortunately we have to declare this bug invalid.

The Nvidia driver version 430 is not yet part of Ubuntu so we can't
handle its bugs in Launchpad here.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1831162] [NEW] Xorg freeze

2019-05-30 Thread Peter
Public bug reported:

Nvidia driver 430 is definitely the cause of freezing. I have
reinstalled ubunutu twice! I also use an EGPU with my system, the 1080
ti. I have an nvidia dgpu, the 1050 ti. My computer is the dell xps 15
9570. I have finally achieved a stable system state with the nvidia
418.67 driver. So what I did was installed the lasted release of cuda
10.1 via the local run file method. That method allows you to install
the 418.67 driver and cuda 10.1 all in a nice package. I also have
nouveau.modeset=0 in grub set to run on every boot. I also uncommented
the wayfarenabled=false. I also use gswitcher, a small program designed
to make the xorg conf file for the egpu.

I have disabled secure boot and cstates

Good luck fixing nvidia driver 430.

Thank you for your dedication!

Peter

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1831107] [NEW] SYNA3602 Touchpad working partially

2019-05-30 Thread aveem ashfaq
Public bug reported:

My touchpad is a HID device and works in Windows 10 properly. It is
detected as SYNA3602:00 in WIndows and it uses Microsoft mouse drivers
(no separate drivers installed).

In Linux, it does not work properly. I can sometimes scroll using two
fingers and sometimes (maybe once every 30 seconds) it works for one
second and then stops working. The same about right click and other
functions. I can't seem to make it work with libinput or synaptics or
evdev driver.

I get this error in dmesg i2c_hid i2c-SYNA3602:00: i2c_hid_get_input:

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1816004] Re: GLVND: AARCH64 : Fix address passed to clear cache

2019-05-30 Thread Ɓukasz Zemczak
Hello Sai, or anyone else affected,

Accepted libglvnd into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libglvnd/1.0.0-2ubuntu2.3 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

** Changed in: libglvnd (Ubuntu Bionic)
Status: In Progress => Fix Committed

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1830792] Re: [i915] Rotated display is overscaled and overdrawn

2019-05-30 Thread Christopher Nelson
It seems unlikely to be a cable or signal problem since I can eventually
coax it into working, and it continues working until I reboot. If it
were a cable problem or something about the signal I would have to
physically modify the connection to create and/or correct the problem.
Since the mere act of rebooting creates the problem it is much more
likely to be a kernel or driver bug.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1831037] Re: not working list

2019-05-30 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
