[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1834262] Re: Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. White turns into a turquoise.
This sounds like likely to be a hardware fault. If not a faulty screen then a faulty connection or faulty cable. Please try replacing the cable. It seems there was no secondary screen connected when you opened this bug. Can you tell us what type of connector you are using? ** Summary changed: - connecting a new monitor + Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1834262] [NEW] connecting a new monitor
Public bug reported: The process with this pc and my tv monitor (an old Sonoko) always takes alot with Ubuntu. It takes even a little bit with Windows on the same device, but with this distro (the only one I've ever tried, 19.04) it can even takes minutes and even a counter intuitive setup. I tried alot of days ago and I hope it can show up in the logs. Furthermore the screen no 2, when finally start working, has a color shift. A blue-ish shift. From the color the mouse cursor it seems white turns into a turquoise. I decided to report it now because I thought it was the old tv fault, but today I decide to plug a new laptop on that and, even if Windows colors are a little bit off, it's not at the same level as this issue lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 19.04 Release:19.04 apt-cache policy pkgname N: Impossibile trovare il pacchetto pkgname ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu12 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.0.0-17.18-generic 5.0.8 Uname: Linux 5.0.0-17-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permesso negato: '/var/log/boot.log' CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Jun 26 00:24:28 2019 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: disco DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: bcmwl, 6.30.223.271+bdcom, 5.0.0-16-generic, x86_64: installed bcmwl, 6.30.223.271+bdcom, 5.0.0-17-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [1028:0277] Subsystem: Dell Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [1028:0277] InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-06-11 (14 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) MachineType: Dell Inc.
