[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1834262] Re: Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. White turns into a turquoise.

2019-06-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
This sounds like likely to be a hardware fault. If not a faulty screen
then a faulty connection or faulty cable. Please try replacing the
cable.

It seems there was no secondary screen connected when you opened this
bug. Can you tell us what type of connector you are using?

** Summary changed:

- connecting a new monitor
+ Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. White turns into a turquoise.

** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. White turns into a turquoise.
+ i915: Secondary screen shows a bluish color shift. White turns into a
turquoise.

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Incomplete

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1834262] [NEW] connecting a new monitor

2019-06-25 Thread Alberto Cangialosi
Public bug reported:

The process with this pc and my tv monitor (an old Sonoko) always takes alot
with Ubuntu. It takes even a little bit with Windows on the same device, but
with this distro (the only one I've ever tried, 19.04) it can even takes
minutes and even a counter intuitive setup.
I tried alot of days ago and I hope it can show up in the logs.
Furthermore the screen no 2, when finally start working, has a color shift. A
blue-ish shift. From the color the mouse cursor it seems white turns into a
turquoise.
I decided to report it now because I thought it was the old tv fault, but today
I decide to plug a new laptop on that and, even if Windows colors are a little
bit off, it's not at the same level as this issue

2019-06-25 Thread Meir Levi
Although mine is the "esc" key, I read somewhere that "shift" key also used to
get to the recovery mode to which I also tried to no avail.
thanksLevi

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1831264] Re: Sun keyboard Front key not accepted by gnome-control-center

2019-06-25 Thread Charles Lindsey
Although reported to gitlab.freedesktop.org (see above), there is no sign
whatsoever of activity in that quarter.
In the meantime, I have just downloaded the latest batch of 18.04 updates, and
the situation has got immeasurably worse.

The relevant part of the xmodmap -pk output has now changed to:

i.e. the keysyms mapped to keycodes 141, 142, 143, and 145 have all
changed, and unpteen things which were working fine this morning are
suddenly broken (in addition to gedit, which I can fix, my Opera Browser
is affected' libreoffice and firefox seem to have survived, but every
application whatsoever, when you press keycode 145, produces an ugly
popup concerning my "rear microphone" - which does not even exist).

What is going on?
