2020-08-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1754284 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1754284

This sounds like bug 1754284 so I will mark it as a duplicate until
proven otherwise. The workaround for that would be to select 'Ubuntu on
Wayland' on the login screen.

If you disagree with this then please run the following command to
collect more information:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1884850] Re: Xorg server uses unacceptably large amounts of memory (and keep growing)

2020-08-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Reopened because there's probably still a bug somewhere. Although this
bug is now assigned to xorg-server I don't actually think Xorg is to
blame. Xorg just owns the memory that applications have requested
resources within.

The Bug Description shows Xorg's RSS creeping over 700MB which does
sound like a bug. However xrestop does not seem to explain it, as that
only shows 110MB of usage.

The next step here is for you to figure out exactly which app is causing
the leakage. To test each app, please log out and in again, then leave
just one app running overnight and nothing else.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1890140] Re: i am not aware what are these errors

2020-08-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read 'How to report bugs effectively'
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1890135] [NEW] LInes/Flickers occur in upper half of the screen.

2020-08-03 Thread Noah Paul Jose
Public bug reported:

Lines or flickers occur in upper half of the screen while playing
videos(1080p).I think some frames are being dropped. Had the same
problem with Ubuntu 18.04. I think this is some issue with Intel HD
Graphics drivers in the system.Ready to do any follow up procedures.

Earlier when I used Ubuntu 16.04 there was no such problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1890124] Re: I can't click on the bottom ~25 % of the screen

2020-08-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Which on-screen keyboard did you use? Can you take a screenshot of it
before hiding it?

Also please open the 'Extensions' app and confirm you don't have any
extensions enabled other than the three Ubuntu ones.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1890124] [NEW] I can't click on the bottom ~25 % of the screen

2020-08-03 Thread Per Johansson
Public bug reported:

Whenever I move the cursor to the bottom ~25 % of the screen I can't use
it to click. Sometimes but not alwyas there's a busy cursor displayed.

The on-screen keyboard popped up before and I think maybe it covered
roughly the same area. It disappeared when I typed my login password on
the lock screen using the physical keyboard. Still, maybe it could be
related?
