[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1917415] Re: Xorg freeze
Thanks for the bug report. The attached files seem to show the nouveau kernel driver is crashing, so you will probably experience a freeze when that happens. This is a somewhat common problem and the best we can suggest is to use the official Nvidia driver instead. It seems driver version 340 is the correct one for your GPU so to install that you can run: sudo apt install nvidia-340 and then reboot. ** Tags added: nouveau ** Summary changed: - Xorg freeze + [nouveau] Xorg freeze ** Summary changed: - [nouveau] Xorg freeze + [nouveau] Xorg freeze and kernel crashed in nouveau_vma_del ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917415 Title: [nouveau] Xorg freeze and kernel crashed in nouveau_vma_del To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1917415/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
