[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1923129] Re: Display output laggy from iGPU when operating on desktop with attaching AMD R7 430 graphic (dGPU)

2021-04-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

It appears you have the 'oibaf' PPA installed which is unsupported and
known to cause graphics bugs. Please uninstall that PPA from the system
and then if you experience any more issues open new bugs.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1923129] [NEW] Display output laggy from iGPU when operating on desktop with attaching AMD R7 430 graphic (dGPU)

2021-04-08 Thread jeremyszu
Public bug reported:

Steps to produce this issue:

1. Install hirsute daily build
(495fe189e32d873ba79d7753134c22353ea89e8e6d62498f6c825a5de6a8a4a7
*hirsute-desktop-amd64.iso) from https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
2. Attach an AMD R7 430 graphic as dGPU without connecting any monitor on it.
3. Attach DP monitor on iGPU (no matter the iGPU is Intel(i915), or
AMD(amdgpu)).
4. After logging it, the display shows laggy.

** Description changed:

In Ubuntu 21.04 beta (using the wayland session) when unmaximizing a
window by dragging it off from the top bar at least two bugs happen
  randomly.

- 1. The window might not unmaximize at all but keep it's maximized size.
+ 1. The window might not unmaximize at all but keeps it's maximized size.
  2. The unmaximize animation does not play correctly (only "slides" but does
not "scale").

Note that unmaximizing by using the maximize button or alt+f10 works
correctly.
- Also X applications such as xterm unmaximize correctly when dragged of the
top bar.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1923054] [NEW] intel vaapi driver iHD fails to load after update to Ubuntu 21.04

2021-04-08 Thread Nicolás Abel Carbone
Public bug reported:

After updating to Ubuntu 21.04 on my Intel i5-7200u laptop, vaapi
doesn't load.

This is the output of vainfo:
libva info: VA-API version 1.10.0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so
libva error: dlopen of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so failed:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN6GmmLib16GmmClientContext25CreateCustomResInfoObjectEP32GMM_RESCREATE_CUSTOM_PARAMS__REC
libva info: va_openDriver() returns -1
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_drv_video.so
libva info: va_openDriver() returns -1
vaInitialize failed with error code -1 (unknown libva error),exit

Using the older i965 vaapi driver seems to work, but in then only older
codecs are accelerated.

I didn't have this problem under Ubuntu 20.10

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1923054] Re: intel vaapi driver iHD fails to load after update to Ubuntu 21.04

2021-04-08 Thread Nicolás Abel Carbone
AS a side note, on my install there seem to be a version mismatch
between intel-media-va-driver (version 21.1.1+dfsg1-1) and libigdgmm11
(version 20.4.1+ds1-1) on which it depends.
