Since I've migrated to Linux Mint 20.1 MATE (from Xubuntu), no problem
for me anymore.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1875015] Re: Ubuntu 20.04 and Displaylink is extremely slow

2021-05-18 Thread Carl Englund
Seems some people here are using the DisplayLink driver offered by the
company for USB3-based DL-devices. I ran into this bug using the udl
driver, since I'm using a DL-device based on one of the older USB2
DisplayLink chipsets. Confirmed the problem in Mint 20.1 and Ubuntu
20.04.2. In Ubuntu, I also tried Wayland but couldn't get DL working
there at all.

Some people here have stated that it helped running one of the screens
with VGA or HDMI. Didn't help me though.

Sean, can you provide a debdiff for amdgpu please? I'm happy to sponsor
it if you do that, ping me on IRC or something.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1925522] Re: Introduce the 465 driver series, fabric-manager, and libnvidia-nscq

2021-05-18 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Performed a review of the remaining 2 NEW packages. Non-blocking issues
for libnvidia-nscq-*

 - Build-Depends on a non-versioned debhelper?
 - Same as above, debian/rules BRANCH variable is set to 999
 - Same as above, weird `rm -f lib*.so` in override_dh_auto_build - cleanup
needed

Besides that, I guess all the 4 new packages suffer from some lintian
warnings (forgot to mention those earlier). Possibly good to have some
overrides for those that make no sense, but I'm listing some that would
be good to fix:

W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: ancient-standards-version 3.8.0 (released
2008-06-04) (current is 4.5.0)
W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: override_dh_fixperms-does-not-call-dh_fixperms
(line 124)
W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: package-uses-deprecated-debhelper-compat-version 9

Still, I think it's non-blocking for a package of this caliber.
