[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1949553] [NEW] Backport packages for 20.04.4 HWE stack

2021-11-03 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Public bug reported:

[Impact]

These are needed for 20.04.4 images.

[Test case]

Boot a daily image, see that it still has the necessary stack installed
and working.

[What could go wrong]

libdrm: adds some new api, no changes to old stuff

llvm-13: a new package, no regression potential on it's own

mesa: a new major release, but we'll pull the final stable release of
21.2.x series, so there shouldn't be any regressions left at that point

xserver: a new point-release, 1.20.x series is in deep maintenance mode,
so there should be little chance of breakage

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1947820] [NEW] [SRU] Backport xorg-server 1.20.13 to focal

2021-11-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

[Impact]
The delay phenomenon is serious in 'External display mode' during the
'On-demand' mode working.
Please reference lp:1940247 and lp:1919118.

[Fix]
 I installed 21.10 on Raptor12(ThinkPad-P15-Gen-2i), with xorg-server
2:1.20.13-1ubuntu1 and nvidia-495.38 test driver, this issue is solved. But in
20.04, it's still 2:1.20.11-1ubuntu1~20.04.2.

[Test]
On Raptor12(ThinkPad-P15-Gen-2i), P17 Gen 2 and P1 Gen 4, with latest 20.04, it
could be reproduced.

[Where problems could occur]
Although the nvidia driver is not released, I thought it's no harm to upgrade
xorg-server first.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1949558] [NEW] Lesstif has been replaced by LGPL Motif, please update package description

2021-11-03 Thread Janne Blomqvist
Public bug reported:

The package description for the libxt-* packages says:

libXt provides the X Toolkit Intrinsics, an abstract widget library upon
which other toolkits are based. Xt is the basis for many toolkits, including
the Athena widgets (Xaw), and LessTif (a Motif implementation).

Lesstif was abandoned after Motif was open sourced in 2012, and indeed
the Lesstif library is no longer packaged in either Debian or Ubuntu as
Lesstif-using packages have been updated to link to motif (libxm4).
Please remove mention of Lesstif.
