[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1890815] Re: vainfo requires a nvidia sofile not in repositories
What about NVENC/NVDEC? New standard created to replace VDPAU? This project implements a VA-API driver for this technology: https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver I think it would be a nice idea to package it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to vdpau-video in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1890815 Title: vainfo requires a nvidia sofile not in repositories To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libva-utils/+bug/1890815/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1944667] Re: High CPU usage in Xorg with NVIDIA reverse prime external monitor
I have a very simple solution that solved it for me. I have an Acer Nitro with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. After installing Ubuntu 22.04, every time I attached an external monitor the Xorg CPU usage was 25% - 33% even when nothing is running. This happens with driver 470 and 510. To fix it - run the NVidia X-server settings app. Under Prime Profiles, select NVIDIA (Performance Mode). Reboot. Now Xorg CPU usage is 0.3%. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944667 Title: High CPU usage in Xorg with NVIDIA reverse prime external monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/1944667/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1978401] Re: display turns suddenly off and then on again
A monitor going blank and then coming back almost always means that a stable signal (enough bandwidth) can't be maintained. You should start by trying to replace the DisplayPort cable, or at least re-plugging the one you have. If that doesn't solve it then to at least prove the theory please try using 1920x1080 for a little while. ** Tags added: bandwidth nvidia ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers-510 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-510 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1978401 Title: display turns suddenly off and then on again To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-510/+bug/1978401/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
