[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1998024] Re: Xorg crashes on startup if Marco window manager is used

2022-12-05 Thread Daniel van Vugt
OsLookupColor is unlikely to be relevant here. That's the function
practically all Xorg crashes appear to be in when the crash is missing
debug symbols. So I would advise to ignore OsLookupColor - it just means
we don't have a valid stack trace.

Please try:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

2022-12-05 Thread Brian Murray
@Michael Vogt - the command-not-found extractor was broken for a while

updated. Is there someway to update the kinetic release cnf indexes post
release so that kms-universal-planes is removed?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1571245] [NEW] Can't boot into X on daily startup disk ubuntu 16.04

2022-12-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Can't boot into Live image into X on daily (04-16-2016) 16.04.

I'm using a Asus UX501VW laptop with and igpu and nvidia.
When I start the live image regularly I get the normal ubuntu splash screen
which hangs after a while.

Removing the quiet and splash options from the grub bootloader results
in a booting system bug no X.

Removing the quiet and splash options and adding nomodeset results in a
borked X screen, see the attached image.
