[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2026603] Re: distorted display on 4K TV with xserver-xorg-video-intel
This device has dual display ports. I tried the other one using the 23.10 boot medium in live mode. Same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2026603 Title: distorted display on 4K TV with xserver-xorg-video-intel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/2026603/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2026603] [NEW] distorted display on 4K TV with xserver-xorg-video-intel
Public bug reported: I have a mini-PC with an Intel N5105 Celeron CPU and a Jasper Lake 24 GPU ("Gen11"). It is connected with HDMI to a Hisense 4K TV. Up until recently, I had no problem installing Kubuntu 22.04 and setting its display resolution to 1280x720. I would see my normal desktop with the panel at the bottom. Now if I select any resolution <4K the screen is distorted vertically and the panel does not appear at the bottom. I've tried both 1920x1080 and 1280x720 and had the same problem. Tried a couple of 4:3 options; they didn't help. I then tried Kubuntu 23.04 and 23.10. The problem persists with both these distributions which leads me to think it may be a problem with the graphics driver. 1) Kubuntu 22.04.2 2) xserver-xorg-video-intel: Installed: 2:2.99.917+git20210115-1 Candidate: 2:2.99.917+git20210115-1 Version table: *** 2:2.99.917+git20210115-1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) Desktop should fit the screen properly at an 16:9 resolution. 4) Screen appears too tall to fit the desktop. The Panel is off the screen below the bottom. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2026603 Title: distorted display on 4K TV with xserver-xorg-video-intel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/2026603/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1970144] Re: [vmwgfx] Qt Creator windows don't render correctly, VMware 16, Ubuntu 22.04
Maybe and just maybe, this is the issue of the desktop environment Ubuntu 22.04 (which I use on VM). I have solved this `inconvenience` by installing the [xubuntu-desktop] sudo apt install xubuntu-desktop And after the reboot, I switched it [Xfce session], and that's it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970144 Title: [vmwgfx] Qt Creator windows don't render correctly, VMware 16, Ubuntu 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1970144/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
