[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 364091] Re: xrandr error with delmode

2024-04-12 Thread Teemu Leisti
I'm also experiencing this bug. OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Xfce.

I have an external monitor whose native resolution is 5120×1440 px. I
earlier used it in a reduced resolution of 3840×1080 px, before figuring
out how to get the native resolution. The command xrandr still lists the
3840×1080 mode I added earlier. I'd like to get rid of it, because (1) I
don't need it anymore, and (2) for some reason, when I start up my
computer, the external monitor's resolution defaults to it, and I'm
thinking getting rid of the resolution might resolve the problem.

Anyway, here are the outputs of some Bash commands I gave. "..." means
elided rows.

# xrandr -v
xrandr program version 1.5.1
Server reports RandR version 1.6

# xrandr

   5120x1440_30.00 29.96*
DP-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

# sudo xrandr --delmode HDMI-1 3840x1080

denied)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (RRDeleteOutputMode)
Serial number of failed request: 32
Current serial number in output stream: 33

I have made no changes to file /etc/X11/xorg.conf; in fact, that file
doesn't exist on my computer, but there is an empty directory
/etc/X11/xorg.con.d.

I'm attaching the output of the command "lspci -vvnn", and the contents
of files "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" and "/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old".

be fine.
FFe granted, please go ahead. Hopefully this is included upstream in future.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2060859] Re: Xorg freeze

2024-04-12 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
