[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 423694] Re: session active, not inhibited, screen idle message
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 397839 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397839 The tray icon was to inform the user that the problem is due to xorg. this is not a gpm bug. it has been fixed in gpm. Right. But as of now it does a pretty bad job of informing the user about that. I am a technical guy and had absolutely no clue that this was caused by my regular screen flickering bug. I couldn't click on it and it took precious space from my desktop. Also it talked about scary things and didn't allow me to get more information. The URL was too long to remember or type, so I didn't bother. Even if it was, I don't think that displaying a mail thread url is the right way to educate end-users about problems - especially if there is no workaround etc. IMO, we shouldn't display it at all and should ensure that it does not happen for other issues :). If there are ways to make it more useful that would be fine too of course. But for this particular bug I don't see how it can be use for the user. -- session active, not inhibited, screen idle message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/423694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xserver-xorg-driver-ati (via bug 397839). ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 392410] Re: [MIR] UNR packages
xautomation MIR approved, Sidenote: No processing of binary or structured data seems wrong to me as there are image processing binaries inside this package. Also I would love if MIR rationales would be a bit more verbose, e.g. just required for X isn't that helpful; however, required for X to do Y and we couldn't use Z1, Z2, etc. because of R1, R2, etc. is extremely helpful. Thanks! ** Changed in: xautomation (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Committed ** Changed in: xautomation (Ubuntu) Assignee: Alexander Sack (asac) = (unassigned) -- [MIR] UNR packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392410 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-evtouch in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Damian, you sure this problem goes away when downgrading? maybe it was just hidden because the other bug was too frequent. -- [MASTER] firefox-3.0b5 received an X Window System error: 'BadIDChoice' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220628 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libxcb in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 392410] Re: [MIR] UNR packages
Now that webfav is going to be promoted into main and its translations released in language packs, this should probably be taken care of in the package. From what I understood this was being worked on. But yeah, could you please file a bug on this so this doesn't fall off the radar, David? -- [MIR] UNR packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392410 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-evtouch in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
