[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1072183] [NEW] Touchpad became unusble after upgrade to Quantal
Public bug reported: After upgrade to Quantal touchpad became unusable. The mouse pointer hardly moves. If two-finger scrolling is enabled it will often scroll instead of moving the pointer. Scrolling using edge scrolling, tapping and the buttons seem to work just fine. I had a similar problem the last time I upgraded this computer, but it somehow magically fixed itself after a couple of days, see bug #996592 for more info ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.6.2-1ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.28-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu6 Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Oct 27 21:36:26 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-10-27 14:25:27,026 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-05-08 (172 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release i386 (20120423) MachineType: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 996592] [NEW] Regression: Touchpad became unusble after upgrade to Precise
Public bug reported: After upgrading from Oneiric to Precise, the touchpad became unusable. To make sure this wasn't caused by something beyond Ubuntu's controll, I also tried a fresh install. The mouse poiner hardly moves at all. Scroll does not work, but sometimes trying to move the pointer will scroll instead. While typing this, the mouse pointer stopped reacting at all, but started to slowly drift downwards towards the bottom of the screen. If I move the pointr using an USB-mouse, it will immediately drift down again. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 734320] [NEW] Left button on touchpad acts like middle click
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Sometimes, and without any noticeable trigger the behavior of the left button on the touchpad changes to what I belive i a simulated middle-click. In Firefox left click starts opening links in a new background tab, and the same thing happens in thunderbird when clicking on mail. Tapping the touchpad works as normal, it's only the left button that's affected. This happens randomly, and persists until the next reboot. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 556232] Re: Radeon HD 2600 - Dualscreen problem
** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed ** Tags added: regression-potential ** Description changed: I've been running 10.04 since Alpha 2. I have a HP Compaq 8510p laptop with a Radeon HD 2600 GFX card. I've connected an extra screen (HP 19 - max resolution 1280x1024x60hz). Now, the dualscreen setup has been working flawlessly, until one of the fixes upgraded the kernel. Anything after 2.6.32-10-generic has been causing HSYNC problems on the extra screen. It looks like every other horizontally line is at least 1 pixel off horizontally, and this pattern scrolls downward, making the dual screen impossible to use. When I boot with grub, kernels = 2.6.32-10-generic works perfect. Anything above causes this behaviour. Not only in X but also using the console (which per default seems to run some VESA graphics resolution), which leads me to believe there is something awry with the radeon kernel module or similar. I've checked /boot/grub/grub.cfg, but there is no difference between the boot entries. I hope the source of this can be found fixed as I cannot go above any kernel revision 2.6.32-10-generic until it's fixed. - Let me know if you need any configurations, file versions or otherwise. + Mainline kernel 2.6.34-999-generic #201004211003 works as normal. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 552782] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: dpkg-divert: mismatch on package
Please keep in mind that Ubuntu is completely free of charge, and a lot of the work is done by volenteers on their spare time. Downloading a alpha/beta release and reporting bugs is one way a normal user can contribute. If you where looking for a stable system you should have waited for the final release. The fix for this particular bug should be available in the repositories so a simple update/upgrade should do it. -opprinn. melding- Emne: [Bug 552782] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: dpkg-divert: mismatch on package Fra: J Harpster harpoma...@hotmail.com Dato: 09.04.2010 20:14 I'm going to remove this (beta don't work) until your stable version comes out at the end of the month.Since you can't send me a downloadable fix that doesn't require writing in manually the solution I have no interest in this beta version. Bug reports should be in English as that is the most commonly used language by Ubuntu developers and bug triagers. In the event that a bug report is not received in English ask the reporter to translate their bug and any error messages that are not in English. In the event that you are concerned that the bug report is critical and needs to be translated quickly e-mail the Ubuntu translators mailing list for help in getting the bug translated.
