I applied all of the updates (including latest kernel) at about 10AM GMT today, and everything appears to now be working. No mouse pointer glitches either, everything just works as expected. Never installed the PPA packages. Using Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard (P/N X800153-011) and old Logitech G5 mouse. +1 on The Fiddler, James N and Royisr. This is a major bug and a fix (even an imperfect one) needs to be pushed out as a matter of extreme urgency. I know a lot of people with MS keyboards, and most of them don't know what a PPA is or how to reload usbhid.
