2014-05-30 Thread Brian Murray
Come to find out that the udev rule that generates the gpu error reports
is disabled for stable releases. In the event that it is enabled for
stable releases and these errors are reported to errors.ubuntu.com then
the fix I made to utopic should be included with the change to the udev
rule.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1324589] [NEW] crashes reported by apport-gpu-error-intel.py are missing the package version

2014-05-29 Thread Brian Murray
Public bug reported:

There is no package version for any of the instances of this oops:

https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/3726fc1472e4a1708e2c14cb152f522742bcd508

see this particular instance:

https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/b65606bc-e4a2-11e3-a166-fa163e707a72

Package xserver-xorg-video-intel

This makes the version table much less useful.

I fixed it in utopic:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/176559253/xdiagnose_3.6.4_3.6.5.diff.gz

But if you are interested in these types of crashes you might want to
SRU the change to Trusty.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243261] Re: apparent GPU hang on haswell laptop when playing movie using XVideo output

2014-01-16 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Koichi, or anyone else affected,

Accepted xserver-xorg-video-intel into saucy-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/xserver-xorg-video-intel/2:2.99.904-0ubuntu2.1 in a few hours, and then
in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

This looks good to me but I think it should be forwarded to the upstream
developers. They seem to keep track of bugs at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/. Could you please forward your bug and
patch there? Then we can add a bug watch on this bug to the upstream
bug report to keep track of their progress on it. Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1220645] Missing SRU information

Thanks for uploading the fix for this bug report to -proposed. However,
when reviewing the package in -proposed and the details of this bug
report I noticed that the bug description is missing information
required for the SRU process. You can find full details at

this bug is missing some of the following: a statement of impact, a test
case and details regarding the regression potential. Thanks in advance!

(LP: #1083032). Subsequently, once the SRU verification process has
completed some one will manually need to let a member of the Ubuntu

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 950963] Re: some packages fail to build because of missing libcuda1

2013-03-21 Thread Brian Murray
Hello IRIE, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nvidia-cuda-toolkit into precise-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/nvidia-cuda-toolkit/4.0.17-3ubuntu0.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Thank you in
advance!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1100994] Re: The quantal version of nvidia-settings doesn't support legacy nvidia driver (173)

2013-02-06 Thread Brian Murray
I have removed the tag regression-update from this bug report as the tag
should be used for a regression which happened when installing a package
from the -updates repository. This tag is used by the Stable Release
Updates team to watch for regressions in packages from -updates and
inappropriate usage of this tag makes it harder to find this category of
regression. Thanks for your understanding. To learn more about how we
use tags you may want to review http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Tags.
