errm according to what Chris Wilson answered me on freedesktop, this bug was corrected about one year ago : This bug has been fixed for over a year. Please do try testing upstream packages before filing a bug against upstream. After that, X recovers, and we're on the login screen. This bug can be reproduced on our workstations. Maybe it's a i686 bug - we cannot check that, we only have i686 computers here.
