[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1307709] Re: webbrowser-app does not start in Unity 8 preview session

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 925785] [NEW] Starting to scroll is erratic
Public bug reported: Since the X transition in precise, scrolling is very erratic. When I activate edge scrolling on my touchpad, the content I'm scrolling often jumps by an unpredictable and large amount in either direction, before scrolling correctly. Other people have reported the same issue with mouse scrollwheels too, so it doesn't seem to be touchpad specific. This is easily triggered by using either of the other touchpad buttons before scrolling. If I activate a scroll without touching any other buttons, then it appears to work correctly. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 854986] [NEW] 5 second delay between Xorg starting and the greeter starting (Dell Latitude E6410)
Public bug reported: I've been looking at our session startup time this week, and I've got one of the big delays right down already (bug 854101). However, the next biggest offender is Xorg (when starting a 2d session) - there appears to be a ~5s delay between Xorg starting and the greeter loading. You can see this in the bootchart attached. Looking at the timestamps in my Xorg.0.log shows a pretty big delay just here: [15.583] (II) intel(0): Initializing HW Cursor [18.030] (II) intel(0): RandR 1.2 enabled, ignore the following RandR disabled message. 18 seconds matches up perfectly on the bootchart with the lightdm greeter starting. I suspect that most people here are experiencing the problem described in https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- screensaver/+bug/555870/comments/11. However, I'd like to keep bug 555870 separate, as that is really reporting a separate issue, and I should have put that comment in this bug report really. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 546578] Re: black screen after a few user switches
Incidentally, I can demonstrate this quite reliably on my Intel box by doing xgamma -gamma 0.5 from within my X session whilst it is active, then switching to a VT and doing DISPLAY=:0.0 xgamma -gamma 1.0. On karmic, the gamma goes back to the correct value in my X session on the inactive VT, but it stays at 0.5 on lucid despite the X calls completing successfully (note, this tests the XF86VM gamma fade only). Sarvatt said on IRC that ATI and nouveau users are experiencing the same behaviour too, it isn't limited to Ubuntu, and disabling fading fixes it. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 239621] Re: Screensaver disables visual effects
The crash handling in compiz calls the fallback window manager (currently metacity by default), to stop it from crashing repeatedly. I think you can change that locally in your preferences if you prefer too though. The geometry of the workspace switcher is a window manager specific preference, so if you launch a new window manager, then it will use it's own preferences. If you want Compiz and Metacity to have the same number of workspaces, you need to change their preferences. -- Screensaver disables visual effects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239621 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 429277] Re: left-handed mouse no longer working
The upload fixed a very specific issue with gnome-settings-daemon, where the left-handed settings were being applied to the core pointer and extension pointer, which caused the setting to be cancelled out. That issue is fixed now (the settings are not applied to the core pointer), so if there are outstanding issues with the settings reverting back to right-handed, then that is a new problem. -- left-handed mouse no longer working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-mouse in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 429277] Re: left-handed mouse no longer working
Actually, if you have a new issue, then this might not be a duplicate of bug 426675. Could you please post the output of xinput list both before and after the settings get inadvertently reverted back to right- handed?
