[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1846201] Re: Rendering is delayed on laptop display (works in external display)
Ubuntu on Wayland has same behavior, but worst. Video attached shows open a new tab with CTRL+T and the new tab not being rendered until I create a new. Then I remove both, I create a new one, not rendered, and got rendered only when the mouse is moved. https://photos.app.goo.gl/6Nc6oABXs1xX1ks26 This worked fine in 19.04 and works fine now with external display. I'll send another video showing how windows animation for align right/left do not work, windows just step from one state to the next with no animation. I've made a picture as screenrecord/screenshot can't cath the problem. As you can see the render is still on "General" despite "Extensions" being the current selection. You can see at the top part of the rendering is restarted and is now stuck in the middle. ** Attachment added: "IMG_20191001_155337.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1846201/+attachment/5293261/+files/IMG_20191001_155337.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846201 Title: Rendering is delayed on laptop display (works in external display) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1846201/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Update. Today I experienced this: after suspending the laptop, now I do not experience broken rendering anymore. This happened once before. Everytime I reboot, it comes back. I'll try to identify a pattern here. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1846201] [NEW] Rendering is delayed on laptop display (works in external display)
Public bug reported: This is a very wierd behavior I get on the Lenovo Yoga S940 after upgrading to 19.10. Basically the rendering on the laptop display is... messy, I'll try to describe how as * screenshots always take it ok * also screenrecorder always seem ok, despite rendering being broken. What heppen is: When I alt-tab or switch tabs or align window right, the rendering does not happen completely, so the screen displays part of the old status and part of the new. If I then alt-tab again for example, or move the mouse cursor over the portions that has not rendered properly, the renders happens. This happens only on the laptop display, not on the external display. This makes the laptop almost unusable with its own display. I will need to go back to 19.04, if there's something I can do to help debug this I'd rather do. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 532756] Re: [GeForce 6100 GO] Image and Xv corruption
Sorry, this do not make sense to me, corruption is random, sometime happen sometime no ... Anyway disabling acceleration is not an option if someone want to use pc for something else than have nice picture on monitor: every time I scroll I have to wait 2 second for monitor to refresh ... for some reason application (or gtk or other library) use heavy algorithm for scrolling that make things more slowly than a 15 year old pc. The only option for scrolling in firefox (continuous) is disabled. I reenabled accel, I randomly get no corrupted screen, tough I set NoXVideo true but it is not used. There is an option to disable nouveau for some chipset and use nv? thus option for who want to test nouveau on go 6100 is to use edges archives -- [GeForce 6100 GO] Image and Xv corruption https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
