[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1702766] [NEW] Wallch/xorg abberation

2017-07-06 Thread David Oxland
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
 Old Fresh Install
Using Wallch set to auto start and pic of the day
Ocassionally the display shows pic only as a portion with bottom portion
grey-out as shown in attached.
Sometime the greyed out portion occupies 80% of the screen always from the
bottom up.
Restart makes no difference
This occurance happens only occasionally, and I've caught a snapshot today
Usually wallch displays pic of the day correctly.
On boot, I do see some different activity discussing blocks occasionally b/w
screen.(related?)
no other display aberrations appear in daily use.

2015-02-11 Thread David Oxland
Hello Christopher

Sorry I couldn't see how to edit this on line. Info is: I've updated to
14.04LTS and on another machine now;
All surveys of this type work fine and I'm no longer troubled.
Thanks

2014-03-03 Thread David Oxland

Often when using unity search tool (top button) a rapid page

with frozen mouse and frozen keyboard(cannot call for term) ctrl+alt+T not
usable for term and reboot.
CPU seems to be frozen. occasionaly have got up sys mon and CPU load stuck at
100%.

2014-01-30 Thread David Oxland
Public bug reported:

https://www.viewerslikeyouadvisors.org/S.aspx?r=4xYlGb.gWkCCWrFq0QcOcw&s=103&m=60126

Results in screen corruption in small or large areas of the form which make it
unreadable or unusable.
Notified them of trouble and they said " update to Ubuntu version of Adobe
flash player"
 done: result, no change.
This same problem occured last year at this time with PBS survey form
Not sure if this is Nvidia problem or Adobe.
Further info:
Just did a splash of updates that were probably relased yesterday.
using Ubuntu 13.10 on Dell Inspiron 9300.
Problem is reproduceable and occurred again after new adobe flash player
install

Public bug reported:

Screen corruption and freezes occurring on a twice weekly basis now
complete hang , no mouse Terminal Ctrl C alt Ctrl T; all not available.
have to shutdown and reboot Then several error report windows pop up.

 No elaborate calculations.
Was viewing a utube video when it froze image and audio continued.
Mouse lost
then half screen corrupted and total lockup/hang.
