[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1484380] Re: Xorg regular crash on wily

2015-11-21 Thread Diego Schulz
I'm also having this issue regularly, at least two times a day. I can't
say for sure but it seems that opening/closing tabs in Chrome is what
triggers a crash most frequently here.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 415357] Re: [gm45] Xorg consistently crashing when using some applications

2011-02-03 Thread Diego Schulz
I tried but was unable to reproduce this bug by the same means I described
early in this thread.
I've not had any graphics issues using Maverick. I think this bug could be
considered fixed since Ubuntu 10.10.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 415357] Re: [gm45] Xorg consistently crashing when using some applications

2010-08-18 Thread Diego Schulz
I'm currently running Lucid in a Dell Latitude E6510 with Intel
graphics, but using vesa driver and modesetting disabled (can't even
boot in graphics mode with intel driver, I've got to use 'xforcevesa
nomodeset' kernel parameters).

I'm going to try maverick ASAP and try to reproduce this bug (assuming
the problem with modesetting is fixed and intel is usable at all).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 561802] Re: [lucid] [i915] blank screen on Latitude E6410

2010-05-28 Thread Diego Schulz
After installing I modified /etc/default/grub

from

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash

to

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=nomodeset quiet xforcevesa

And now I can at least use my laptop without windows, wich of course was
a pleasure to get shredded and wiped from the hard disk.

2010-05-27 Thread Diego Schulz
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with a Latitude E6510 with Intel
integrated graphics.

Does anyone knows if this issue is fixed in 10.10 in development?

 From how the corruption looks and since they are both related to qt, I
 think this may be the same issue as bug 433974. That bug has already
 been sent upstream, so I'm marking this bug as a duplicate for the
 moment. When that bug is fixed, it would be nice if you could verify
 that the fix also fixes this problem, and if not unduplicate this bug.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 404902] Re: [i945GM] kdm doesn't start correctly after logout

2009-08-09 Thread Diego Schulz
I'm having this problem too. Installed KDE 4.3 this morning and noticed
the problem a few hours later.

I've found a workaround in http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15162
Just add

TerminateServer=true

in /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc in the [X-:*-Core] section,

[X-:*-Core]
AllowNullPasswd=true
AllowShutdown=All
NoPassEnable=false
NoPassUsers=
ServerArgsLocal=-br -nolisten tcp
ServerCmd=/usr/bin/X
TerminateServer=true

After this, KDM works as expected, but I don't know if this can cause side
effects.
