[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2036611] Re: FFe: Mesa 23.2.0
** Description changed: Upstream still hasn't released Mesa 23.2.0 (as of Sep 19th) which is almost seven weeks past it's original release date. But at least we have an rc3 which is "only" two weeks old. Yes, we are getting close to mantic release but this series is something we want for Intel Meteor Lake support. Build available at the x-staging ppa https://launchpad.net/~canonical-x/+archive/ubuntu/x-staging/+packages (status: i386 build failed due to an upstream bug, which requires llvmspirvlib headers to exist even if rusticl OpenCL driver is not enabled) - - xnox: Separately to amd64, this new mesa would also be useful on many arm64 platforms with a lot of improvements for RaspberryPi, Ubuntu Concept X13s, and Apple / Asahi hardware. + xnox: Separately to amd64, this new mesa would also be useful on many + arm64 platforms with a lot of improvements for RaspberryPi, Ubuntu + Concept X13s, and Apple / Asahi hardware. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1845801] Re: [nvidia] Automatic login fails and then all subsequent logins fail. Killing gnome-session-binary fixes it, or just not using automatic login.
We could use gfxpalyload blacklist, to mark certain nvidia cards there. And then gfxpayload will not be set to keep, and then vt.handoff will not be appended. See grub-gfxpayload-lists package, and files in /usr/share/grub- gfxpayload-lists/blacklist/ My current preference would be the gdm3 fix. Ubuntu no longer uses vt.handover and it should not be specified at all anymore. We boot directly to tty1, always and everywhere, and we should not be setting that at all. Thus a patch changing that from 7 to 1 is not a good idea for focal+. And I can't quite remember which releases we have changed to booting to tty1 by default. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1242572] Re: Ubiquity sets Alt+Shift shortcut for layout switching, while installed system uses Super+Space

Thus for consistently, Xorg; console- + setup; and ubiquity should also use Super+Space combination for + switching keyboard layouts. + + reading xkeyboard-config sources and documentations i don't see that + xkeyboard-config can support grp:lwin_space and i guess that needs to be + the first step to properly support super+space. + + + Original bug report below: + + Recently I installed Ubuntu 13.10 and Ubuntu GNOME 13.10. I use two keyboard layouts - English and Russian. So I select them on the corresponding screen of ubiquity setup wizard. It quietly set the keyboard switching shortcut to Alt+Shift and wrote this setting to /etc/default/keyboard: # ... XKBMODEL="pc105" XKBLAYOUT="us,ru" XKBVARIANT="," XKBOPTIONS="grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll" # ... On first boot of installed system the small notification pop-up showed that Ibus will use Super+Space for layout switching. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1278871] [NEW] please consider making libgl1-mesa-dri to not be pulled into ubuntu-touch seed
Public bug reported: >From mesa package: libgbm1 depends on libgl1-mesa-dri >From qtdeclarative-opensource-src: qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin depends on libgl1-mesa-dri Mesa is available on our default installations by virtue of ubuntu-drivers-common, seeds or manual package selection. libxi 2:1.7.1.901-1ubuntu1~precise1 was published in precise-updates pocket on the 6th of January https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxi/2:1.7.1.901-1ubuntu1~precise1 It appears as if on your system there are non standard pinning levels, and thus instead of installing from -updates pocket, libxi6 from -security pocket is installed. (990, 900) Please note, that generally one does not need to rank -security pocket, higher than -updates pocket. As security updates always "trump" updates pocket, by strict version number comparison. ** Changed in: libxi (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: libxi (Ubuntu Precise) Assignee: (unassigned) => Dimitri John Ledkov (xnox) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libxi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267665 Title: Unable to upgrade Unity due to libxi6 dependency To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxi/+bug/1267665/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
