[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1772317] [NEW] Missing dependency libgtkmm for gparted

2018-05-20 Thread Eric Stith
Public bug reported:

I did a minimal install of Ubuntu 18.04. Initially, although apt
claimed that gparted was already installed, the binary didn't seem to
exist. I removed it and reinstalled it, but it seems to be missing
dependencies:

Running "sudo gparted":
/usr/sbin/gpartedbin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkmm-2.4.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Running "sudo apt-get install -f":
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I had to remove libgtkmm-2.4-1v5, which also removed gparted, and then
reinstall gparted, which seems to have correctly installed the
libgtkmm-2.4-1v5 library. I had to do something similar with
libatkmm-1.6-1v5, libpangomm-1.4-1v5, libglibmm-2.4-1v5.

Doing this seems to fix it:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libcairomm-1.0-1v5 libglibmm-2.4-1v5
libsigc++-2.0-0v5

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1761834] Re: Right-click doesn't work

2018-05-20 Thread Eric Stith
I just wanted to add two new notes to this bug report:

1. When I reported it, I was using a beta of 18.04, right-click didn't
work either by clicking on the area of the trackpad that is supposed to
be reserved for right-click or by using two-finger click. The former is
still true in the full released version, but the later seems to be
fixed, albeit, it is quite difficult and requires very precise timing
and finger spacing to achieve a right-click (I get a successful right-
click with two fingers about 20% of the time).

2. I have done a clean install on a different laptop with completely
different hardware, and I am seeing exactly the same problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1761834] [NEW] Right-click doesn't work

2018-04-06 Thread Eric Stith
Public bug reported:

I decided to try out the beta for 18.04 from 17.10. Upon upgrading, I
discovered that right-clicking no longer works on my trackpad, and
right-clicks are handled as left-clicks would be. Two-finger right
click does not work either. If I plug in a mouse with a physical right
button, right clicking does work.
