[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 956579] [NEW] choppy video when vdpau is enabled

2012-03-15 Thread Eshwar Andhavarapu
Public bug reported:

This used to work just fine in Oneiric so it has to be some weird
regression that Precise has introduced

When vdpau is enabled as the video output in smplayer (mplayer2), the
video stutters a lot. the same problem is not seen when xv is used as
the output route.

Somehow when I did `compiz --replace`, between compiz restarting the
video is playing smoothly. As I type this compiz has crashed it seems
and the video is smooth. I have verified in the logs that it is using
vdpau at the moment.

So is this a compiz bug then?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 422422] Re: nvidia-settings puts primary screen on wrong monitor

2011-04-29 Thread Eshwar Andhavarapu
Yes the bug still exists!

Even after ensuring that the primary monitor checkbox is ticked!

Tested with Released Natty 64-bit on the Ubuntu Classic Desktop. Didn't
even bother with Unity since the bug still exists.

** Changed in: nvidia-settings (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete = Confirmed

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312756] Re: MASTER: support graphics card hot switch

2010-11-26 Thread Eshwar Andhavarapu
New system: Dell Vostro 3700 with BIOS Version A10

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Core Processor
Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 18)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation GT216 [GeForce GT
330M] [10de:0a29] (rev a2)

can't boot if xorg.conf is present. because that seems to call on the
nvidia graphics card. anyway, attaching DSDT.dsl

Hope it helps!

2010-11-05 Thread Eshwar Andhavarapu
always thought it was randomly happening! only facing the problem in
maverick though. 2 installs on separate computers and both face the same
problem. affects both externally connected and normal k/b and mouse.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 353126] Re: Compiz / vnc screen refresh with nvidia-restricted driver/VirtualBox/ATI fglrx driver using X.org prior to release 7.5

2010-02-22 Thread Eshwar Andhavarapu
Actually this is not specific to nvidia-restricted drivers. I have the
latest stable nvidia drivers from PPA. No remote display refreshing if
compiz is enabled. If i switch to metacity (same as no desktop effects)
then everything back to normal. Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop x64.
