Public bug reported: I'm noticing some random screen flickering since 16.10 upgrade. Something like every 10 minutes, mainly on the secondary monitor (hdmi connected), but sometimes on the laptop display too. Not sure if it's related, but when using LibreOffice Impress to display presentations on the secondary display the problem worsens, but it's only flickering in parts of the display, not all. This bug filing might not be complete because ubuntu-bug was not working at the time. Only managed to send the bug after having found a workaround. You can see a small history of the problem at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2213955 Summarising: Xorg on live usb stick doesn't find the ATI card, so it works with the intel one, and it's fine, apparently. Since I reported this bug two things to note: 1. Logout no longer turns off the backlight permanently - the login screen turns it on 2.
