I have a Wacom Intuos3, and when I set anything with the xsetwacom program, it's ok, until I make any use of what has been configured. E.g, if I set : xsetwacom set Wacom Intuos3 9x12 pad StripLeftUp key f And make any use of the strip, the XServer crashes immediately. If I set : xsetwacom set Wacom Intuos3 9x12 pad Button 1 key y And make any use of the Button number one, it just crashes, and so on I think you got it. If I don't try to change the shortcuts with xsetwacom, the defaults just respond as expected. So when it crashes, the screen just goes out for a second, and I'm on GDM the second after, waiting for me to login. Wacom Intuos3 9x12, Ubuntu Natty 64, i7 950 | 8 GB | GTX 460 with proprietary drivers, Ubuntu classic session (so without Unity enabled, if this is of any help). Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick, up to date) x32-64, with the last official xserver-xorg-input-wacom package (1:0.10.8-0ubuntu1 for instance). My tablet is a Wacom Intuos3 A4 (Wacom Intuos3 9x12). When I boot up my system, and I use the strips of my tablet to test them, they do work as default action (slide page). But this is not what I want to do with it, so I use xsetwacom for this. And, at the precise time when I use xsetwacom to set another action key (eg. f or d), the strips stop working. Here is the custom script I use to do that : http://pastebin.com/Sgm2RXDJ After the execution of the script given, everything works just as expected, except the strips ! It's DEFINITELY NOT TOTALLY FIXED in Ubuntu Maverick. Yes, it does work with the buttons on the pad, but the strips are still out ! I'm using an Intuos3, Maverick x86-64. As a graphic artist, I would use them very often, so please fix this.
