This started because my brightness keys stopped working, laptop won't boot correctly, kernels fail, slow sluggish pulling up any page, even terminal, and when I shut laptop , not shut down, it will reboot itself instead of hibernating. Then purple page pops up and I have to go into a recovery mode to get in, will not go to sign in page but straight to desktop. Hp255 Unbuntu 14.04 Remember please that I am a new born baby with ubuntu (came from Windows) and would need step by step instructions.
