[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 556782] Re: [rs690m] Graphics corruption with ati x1200
Sorry, i forgot to add that i'm running Ubuntu 11.10. I've tried 11.04, 10.10 & even 10.04 but the same thing happened - graphical corruption, even when booting from Live CD. I've checked the ISO's & they're all good. I've used them to install Ubuntu in Intel-based laptops & experienced no problem at all. It's just sad that i can't install Ubuntu on my own system. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 556782] Re: [rs690m] Graphics corruption with ati x1200
@ agodshall You posted - "I tried many of the above on my LT3103u and the only one that worked for me was passing nomodeset (not any of the modeset=0 variants) on the kernel commandline (first tested interactively by catching grub in the act of booting, and then by putting it in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg via /etc/default/grub and update-grub)." I'm very new to Ubuntu/Linux OS environment, so please, if you don't mind, walk me through your suggestion. How do i get to the kernel commandline? For your info, i'm using Gateway LT3105g & i experience the same graphical corruption others have mentioned in this thread. Thanks. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 835827] [NEW] Nightshade crash on starting
Public bug reported: Trying to use Nightshade on Maverick (updated). Screen initially goes dark as does the Windows version. Very quickly crashes with message nightshade: ../../radeon/radeon_cs_gem.c:181: cs_gem_write_reloc: Assertion `boi->space_accounted' failed. This in is libdrm-2-4-21. Communicated with maintainer Jeremy who said that this error should not occur. Some upstream bug is doing something illegal. Makes Nightshade completely useless.
