[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1300215] Re: Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

2018-11-17 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
#42 solution working and not working ...

Some videos crash vlc:

core dumped

So,

$ sudo apt-get purge vdpauinfo
$ sudo apt-get purge i965-va-driver
$ sudo apt-get purge libvdpau-va-gl1

And working, with the warning, of course.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2017-09-13 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
We migrated all the computers to Lubuntu (Ubuntu + LXDE) 16.04 64 bit.
The problem is solved for us.

We had the problem with Lubuntu 14.04 32 & 64 bit with kernel enablement stack.
( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack )

We can't test this with 32 bit systems because we haven't them anymore.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-11-20 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
About my comments #261 & #262

I have problems with Google Chrome if I remove xserver-org-video-all (in
my case xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-xenial) packages. Chrome works very
slow and many times I'v got error application at startup.

Reinstalling the packages solves the problem with Chrome.

I read at some places that graphics acceleration can cause problems
using Chrome, http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/internet/how-turn-off-
gpu-hardware-acceleration-in-google-chrome-3605455/

2016-11-04 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
The use of this driver is discouraged if your hw is new enough (ca.
2007 and newer). You can try uninstalling this driver and let the
server use it's builtin modesetting driver instead.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-09-10 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
Tried with gnome-screensaver and xscreensaver

They work. I think the problem is light-locker

I'm trying to replace light-locker with one of them (at startup and
preferences menu).

In fact, Lubuntu 12.04 LTS used xscreensaver

But Lubuntu 14.04 LTS uses light-locker

Test to do...

sudo apt-get install gnome-screensaver
sudo apt-get install xscreensaver

Ctrl+Alt+T

light-locker-command -l > Mouse cursor lost

killall light-locker

gnome-screensaver-command -l > OK

killall gnome-screensaver

xscreensaver > Needs daemon mode

Crtl+Alt+T

xscreensaver-command -l > OK

killall xscreensaver

** Also affects: light-locker (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided

2013-05-13 Thread Josep Pujadas-Jubany
Work around from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SamsungSeries9 ...

Set the psmouse driver protocol.

 sudo su
 echo options psmouse proto=exps  /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.modprobe
 reboot

This enables right-clicking, but removes the ability to control other
touchpad features. For example, you cannot disable touch-clicking.

Thanks!

With your recommendation I had the following idea:

Ctl+Alt+F1

login

sudo start ligthdm

Ctl+Alt+F1

logout

Ctl+Alt+F7

It works. I did'nt need to modify grub. And the trick is only necessary
when xorg fails at startup.

$ dpkg -l | grep video-intel

If nothing connected to VGA1 the following command line normally hangs
