[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1171314] [NEW] Window stacking order messed up for dialogs/overlays
Public bug reported: I am seeing this bug where right click dialogs, menus, notifications etc are popping up behind other windows. See the screenshot as an example. It mostly doesn't happen until I start Amarok, which is a QT app, but that doesn't always make it happen either. Public bug reported: After booting to gdm, there are a few flashing underline style cursors flashing in various places on the screen. It looks like a VT is "bleeding" through but in a corrupted way. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1017394] [NEW] Display completely locks up at random
Public bug reported: Apparently at random my screen will just lock up (although sometimes the mouse pointer will still move). It is exacerbated by using Google Hangouts and Skype but is not limited to using them. The Xorg logs shows a load of errors and a stack trace. I can ssh into the box when this happens and see that the Xorg process is using 100% of a CPU core. This bug report is generated by sshing in to get the relevant data. Hi Steve, thanks for replying so quickly! A couple more data points for anyone looking at this: 1. I spoke to someone on #ubuntu-x who said that failsafe mode happens because when X tries to start it already sees an X server running (I confirmed this by looking in the X log). 2. I don't get any problems on a machine with 1440x900 intel graphics (which I guess is because it has the right framebuffers available?) Based on that I'd change the title of this bug, or perhaps make it invalid? It's xserver-xorg-video-intel's performance that basically sucks, I don't get this problem on a machine with an nvidia card. -- kwin uses way too much CPU when there's no activity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 452096] Re: kwin uses way too much CPU when there's no activity
It's a little better in lucid but not much. I turned off the vsync option which helps the most, but Xorg is still taking far too much CPU when the machine is basically idle. I've got a new more powerful laptop (with an i5) so it's hard to directly compare, but Xorg is constantly using ~2-3%. kwin uses very little now vsync is off and powertop says it's waking up much less as well. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- kwin uses way too much CPU when there's no activity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 490298] [NEW] Screen corruption
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I am getting some screen corruption using Kubuntu Karmic on my Intel GMA965. I am unsure if it's the intel driver, KDE or the way KDE uses the intel driver. I will attach a screenshot showing an example. This first happened in Jaunty, and has not really fixed itself with the newer intel driver, so I suspect the problem lies there.
