[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1481832] Re: VA-API implementation for gallium missing

2016-01-05 Thread JulienIsorce
See bug #1441631 . It is required whenever you do HW decoding with
"nouveau" driver (no matter the top level API i.e. vdpau, VA-APi, OMX
...)

(Any other solutions will necessarily uses the proprietary NVIDIA
driver)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1522922] Re: Screen flickering in Intel i915 driver

2017-02-22 Thread JulienIsorce
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1554613 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1554613

It happens for me with kernel 4.8.0-34-generic #36~16.04.1-Ubuntu .
with xorg.conf from comment #129.
The flashs start to appear once there is the message pointed in #130, i.e.:
[drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe B FIFO
underrun .
The message appears only once for the first flash and then the flash appear
more often but no more message in /var/log/kern.log. Adding drm.debug=14 does
not enable more messages in that case.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1693379] [NEW] X server abort in present_flip_notify

2017-05-24 Thread JulienIsorce
Public bug reported:

Xorg: ../../present/present.c:489: present_flip_notify: Assertion
`vblank == screen_priv->flip_pending' failed.

I encountered X server abort above many times when changing layout and
resolution of the screens. Though it is quite random. But it is already
fixed in the next X server version 1.19. While Ubuntu 16.04.2 uses X
server 1.18.

The patch is
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=e473b2bc016adacfe3fa47fdf6a8ce9f8cddff62
. I tried and it applied cleanly to branch 1.18 and I solved the issue for me.

The patch above contains a reproduction test. Also see
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98831#c6 and
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98854 .

So could you insert this patch in
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+package/xserver-xorg-core ? Thx!

** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
