[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085500] [NEW] GeForce 6200 extremely slow opengl performance

2012-12-01 Thread Keith Clark
Public bug reported:

Using nvida-current drivers the GeForce 6200 opengl performance is
insanely slow. glxgears gives around 2-3 fps.

I've tried the open source drivers and they only give 120 fps.

I have re-installed the nvidia-current driver after trying the open
source driver and it again is super slow. glxgears gives about 3 fps.
I can watch video fine as well.

What does glxgears give you?

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 982710] Re: [regression] Nvidia 295.40 driver is extremely slow

2012-05-09 Thread Keith Clark
GeForce 6200 and 3D is still very, very, very slow. Not usable at all.
Top menu bar and side task bar still do not show up. Stuck in 2D at the
present time. Updates are up to date.

Alberto,

I did this and it says that I have the most up to date software.
Checking the nvidia settings shows that I'm running 295.40,

With the new driver it seems to be faster but I still have no top menu
bar and no side Unity bar. Icons show up on the desktop and can be
moved around and left click the mouse on the desktop brings up the
little menu.
