[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 501607] Re: display limited to 800 X 600 - won't fill screen
Had the same problem with a toshiba satellite pro 4600 and lucid. I only had to generate a fresh xorg.conf with : sudo X -configure sudo mv ~/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf Edit this file to modify the monitor section : Section Monitor Identifier Configured Monitor Option DPMS true HorizSync 30.0-60.0 VertRefresh 50.0-70.0 EndSection and restart X (reboot the computer). The bug come from a too low hsync value for this (not recognized) screen. I don't think it would be a trident-specific issue. ** Tags added: lucid -- display limited to 800 X 600 - won't fill screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-trident in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 584486] [NEW] brigthness set to 0 when switching to a graphical console
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I have a thinkpad R50e, which has a intel 82852/855GM. I like my brightness level to be at the maximum value (7). In /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/thinkpad_screen, I have : actual_brightness : 7 brightness : 7 When I switch from a graphical console (VT7) to a text console (VT1) using ctrl-alt-f1, the brightness is kept. When I switch from a text console (VT1) or a graphical console to a graphical console (VT8) using ctrl-alt-fX, the brightness is set at its minimal level (0). actual_brightness : 0 brightness : 0 I have the same result with the user-switch applet. I didn't have this issue with karmic. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 584486] Re: brigthness set to 0 when switching to a graphical console
Forget to mention that I had to enable KMS due to a GPU freeze after upgrading to karmic, using options i915 modeset=1. I have another issue : my cursor is disappearing after closing re- opening the lid. Have to change the VT come back to get the cursor back. Seems this three issues are connected, because after switching to linux- image-2.6.34-020634-generic_2.6.34-020634_i386, it solved all this bugs at the same time (brightness and cursor). -- brigthness set to 0 when switching to a graphical console https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584486 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
