[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1572855] Re: libgbm.so.1: cannot open shared object file

2016-04-21 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I've fixed this problem with these commands:

Ubuntu-Baltix-14:/var/lib/dpkg# sudo dpkg-divert --remove
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgbm.so.1.0.0
Removing 'diversion of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgbm.so.1.0.0 to
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/old.libgbm.so.1.0.0 by libgbm1-lts-vivid'
Ubuntu-Baltix-14:/var/lib/dpkg# sudo dpkg-divert --remove
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgbm.so.1
Removing 'diversion of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgbm.so.1 to
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/old.libgbm.so.1 by libgbm1-lts-vivid'
Ubuntu-Baltix-14:/var/lib/dpkg# sudo apt-get --reinstall install libgbm1

Is this the best way to fix gnome-shell and other gnome software booting

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1410775] Re: [AMD Mullins + Jet XT] The graphic is not switchable with fglrx

2016-01-15 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I have the same problem on HP Probook 355 with AMD A4-6210 APU
(integrated AMD Radeon R3 Graphics) and additional faster Radeon R5 M240
chip - after installation of fglrx drivers only slower in APU integrated
graphic hardware is used :(

I've tried on Ubuntu 14.04.4 with fglrx versions 15.200-0ubuntu0.5 and
newer 15.200.1-0ubuntu1 installed - same problem with both :(

Ubuntu-Baltix-14:~$ lspci |grep -i radeon
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]
Mullins [Radeon R3 Graphics]
01:00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Jet XT
[Radeon R5 M240] (rev ff)

Later I try with latest fglrx 15.201, maybe this works correctly?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 718693] Re: Can't type EURO symbol with AltGr+E using main lithuanian (lt) keymap

2015-01-23 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Vytautas, could you test if Euro symbol still doesn't exist in main Lithuanian
keyboard layout on Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 LTS?
I've just tested on 14.04.1 with Gnome Flashback and I can type € when presas
AltGr + E

But I found related problem Ubuntu installer (Ubiquity) or Unity DE - when I
select Lithuanian keyboard during installation, then I get 3 keyboard layouts
in Unity Lithuanian (LT), Lithuanian with US Layout as default (LT+US, has Euro
symbol) and US layout without Euro symbol.
Euro is Lithuanian currency since 2015 January, so, we don't need US Layout
without Euro symbol, it's enought to have 2 layouts for Lituanians - LT and
LT+US

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1066464] Re: Please patch xserver-xorg-video-sis for Saucy and Raring (was: SiS driver crashes Xserver with EXA acceleration)

2013-10-03 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Daniel, could you backport a copy of patched xserver-xorg-video-sis
0.10.7-0ubuntu5 package for Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS HWE stack - just rename
the source and binary package to xserver-xorg-video-sis-lts-raring and
upload to your repository.

If you don't have free time for this then please upload sources of
patched xserver-xorg-video-sis 0.10.7-0ubuntu5 driver (with debian
folder) to http://code.launchpad.net or github.com - then I will try to
backport to xserver-xorg-video-sis-lts-raring Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS HWE
stack.

Thanks,
Mantas

Patched SiS video driver (from ppa:dtl131/mediahacks , package xserver-
xorg-video-sis version 0.10.7-0ubuntu5~raring1) works fine with SIS Real
256E Graphics (Asus P5S800-VM mainboard with SiS 671FX chipset)
hardware.

I'm attaching Xorg.0.log from Ubuntu 13.04 system with SIS Real 256E
Graphics (Asus P5S800-VM mainboard with SiS 671FX chipset) hardware -
Xorg works fine with patched SiS video driver from ppa:dtl131/mediahacks
, but doesn't start at all with default xserver-xorg-video-sis package
from Ubuntu.

Please don't remove xserver-xorg-video-sis package from Ubuntu Saucy,
but use EXA patch https://launchpad.net/~dtl131/+archive/mediahacks/ ,
because patched SiS driver works fine on new Xserver with EXA
acceleration.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1066464] Re: SiS driver crashes Xserver with EXA acceleration

2013-09-04 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
If Ubuntu developers don't have time to fix xserver-xorg-video-sis
package, then this package should be removed from Ubuntu 12.10 and newer
releases (including Ubuntu 12.04.3), because then users can use Ubuntu
desktop at least - vesa driver works fine on SIS hardware, but xserver-
xorg-video-sis doesn't work at all since Ubuntu 12.10 :(

Another case is automatically create /etc/X11/xorg.conf file with Option
NoAccel true when SIS chipset is detected.

Section Device
Identifier Configured Video Device
Option NoAccel true
EndSection

These errors appers when I'm wathching videos in Totem or VLC

Because of this bug size of /var/log/lightdm/x-0.log is very big - 130Mb after
one day uptime:
# ls -lh /var/log/lightdm/x-0.log
-rw--- 1 root root 134M Geg 11 02:44 x-0.log

This bug should be fixed in latest xf86-video-ati release 7.1.0 (January 31st,
2013) - changelog contains this info:
radeon: fix ring count in R300PrepareTexturedVideo
See
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-ati/commit/?id=793e1b0ea579cce7489aee57a95f20384d6ecce8

Other Ubuntu 12.04.2 users also meet with this problem, see:
http://www.opennet.ru/openforum/vsluhforumID3/88687.html#94

I will try to use updated drivers and dri from ppa:makson96/fglrx
(https://launchpad.net/~makson96/+archive/fglrx ) or
or from Updated and Optimized Open Graphics Drivers PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/graphics-drivers/ ) and will report if
updated drivers doesn't have this problem.

and 12.10 are unusable with SIS video hardware, this is an important
regression, because all older Ubuntu versions, including 12.04 LTS works
fine with the same hardware.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 725434] Re: Nvidia drivers lead to extra memory usage for each process using libGL

2012-03-02 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Dàrent (animaletdesequia) wrote on 2011-11-14:
I know most of you must be running 11.10 now, but I just installed 11.04 and
 I'm having this problem.
The last version of libcairo2 in the repos is 1.11.3, which gives me a ram
usage about 1.5Gb just after login.
I've forced version 1.10.2 and everything is fine now, ram under 500Mb.

Last libcairo2 version in Ubuntu 11.04, 11.10 and even 12.04 is 1.10.2 -
see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo or
http://packages.ubuntu.com/libcairo2

It seems you installed unofficial libcairo2 package from other
repositories, not from Ubuntu if you had 1.11.3 version.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 860728] Re: Xorg freeze in i845

2011-10-05 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I found workaround for GPU lockups (X freezes) on Intel i845 hardware at
official Xorg bug tracking system - see
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26345

It's very simple - just create a /etc/X11/xorg.conf config file with
this content:

Section Device
  Identifier Card0
  OptionDRIfalse
  OptionShadowtrue
EndSection

I'm attaching xorg.conf file which fixes GPU lockups on Intel i845
hardware.

2011-10-02 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I have [i845] Intel 82845G - VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation
82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01) and
Ubuntu 11.04 works in fairly good performance when I force X Window system
driver to intel - see attached xorg.conf file (as default Ubuntu 11.04 uses
slow fbdev).
It seems Compiz doesn't work at all with 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset
Integrated Graphics - Ubuntu starts in GNOME Classic session...

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 731935] Re: [i845] Intel 82845G does not detect HP D2835 monitor

2011-10-02 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
AFAIK problem is because Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 doesn't use intel X driver on
Intel i845 (82845G) and i855 devices, but uses fbdev instead. Could you force
driver to intel by copying attached xorg.conf to /etc/X11/ folder and test if
monitors are correctly detected? I did this on my system with Intel Corporation
82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01) and now
my computer detects monitors and works fine with Ubuntu 11.04, see
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/721883/comments/3

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 590504] Re: [arrandale] Integrated intel graphics GMA HD doesn't work

2011-06-01 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I'm happy to present working solution for integrated Intel HD Graphics
(GMA HD) running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS:

1. Install new versions of libdrm*, lib*mesa* and xserver-xorg-video-intel
packages from ppa:ubuntu-fi or ppa:baltix (see
https://launchpad.net/~baltix/+archive ) repository
2. Install new Linux kernel 2.6.38 image
(linux-image-generic-lts-backport-natty) from ppa:baltix-members (see
https://launchpad.net/~baltix-members/+archive ) or ppa:kernel-ppa
3. restart Ubuntu 10.04 operating system :)

I've updated xserver-xorg-video-intel and libdrm* packages from these
repositories and can confirm that this solution fixed *all* video driver
problems on my Dell Latitude E5520 notebook with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU
and integrated Intel HD Graphics second generation (VGA controller: Intel
Corporation Device 0116 (rev 09) )!
I'm using new libdrm*, lib*mesa* and xserver-xorg-video-intel packages from
ppa:ubuntu-fi (or ppa:baltix) repository for 2 days and haven't noticed any
problems :)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 568015] Re: Watermark AMD unsupported hardware is displayed

I've removed AMD Unsupported Hardware watermark from the screen simply -
replaced /etc/ati/control file with *older* file, from Ubuntu 10.10 or 10.04
package :)
It seems sometimes control file should be replaced with older file, not with
newer :)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 695749] [NEW] X (and whole system) freezes completely when OpenGL application, like glxgears is started on Ubuntu 10.x withwith S3 Inc. VT8375 [ProSavage8 KM266/KL266] video contr

2010-12-30 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-savage

X (and whole system) freezes completely when OpenGL application, like glxgears
or gltext screensaver is started on Ubuntu 10.04.1 and 10.10
Hardware:
FUJITSU SIEMENS Amilo K 7600 notebook with S3 Inc. VT8375 [ProSavage8
KM266/KL266] video controller (PCI ID 5333:8d04 )

This is a regression, because Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (and 8.10 and 7.10) doesn't have
any problem when running OpenGL applications.
This problem disappears after installing fresh Xorg packages from
https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa

Please fix this bug in stable Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - users can't use
freezing Ubuntu LTS release :(

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 301958] Re: [needs-packaging] no working driver for sis 671/771 video cards

2010-11-29 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
I've packaged sis671/sis771 drivers from
http://ajoliveira.com/ajoliveira/uk/software/xorg.php with blacklist vga16fb,
postinst script for updating initramfs and xorg.conf config file into .deb
package, see attached deb file or
http://ftp.akl.lt/Linux/Baltix/Baltix-Ubuntu-packages/lucid/SIS-671-771-drivers/
Users can simply install attached deb file and reboot the computer - SIS
671/771 video chipset will work fine after reboot - I've tested this package
with Asus-K50C computer (1360x768 resolution) :)

Antonio J. de Oliveira, it seems your driver binary files at
http://ajoliveira.com/ajoliveira/uk/software/xorg.php are compiled with
debugging symbols, and they are very big compared to files from Mandriva
or Debian packages from http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=45;bug=546741

http://ajoliveira.com/ajoliveira/uk/software/xorg.php , I think they should
work with 1280x800 :)
I didn't tested this deb package with 1280x800, because I have only 1360x768
screen...

Also I don't know the difference with sismedia driver from Mandriva - you can
test this by yourself and tell us the difference :)
