[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 718693] Re: Can't type EURO symbol with AltGr+E using main lithuanian (lt) keymap
Vytautas, could you test if Euro symbol still doesn't exist in main Lithuanian keyboard layout on Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 LTS? I've just tested on 14.04.1 with Gnome Flashback and I can type € when presas AltGr + E But I found related problem Ubuntu installer (Ubiquity) or Unity DE - when I select Lithuanian keyboard during installation, then I get 3 keyboard layouts in Unity Lithuanian (LT), Lithuanian with US Layout as default (LT+US, has Euro symbol) and US layout without Euro symbol. Euro is Lithuanian currency since 2015 January, so, we don't need US Layout without Euro symbol, it's enought to have 2 layouts for Lituanians - LT and LT+US -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718693 Title: Can't type EURO symbol with AltGr+E using main lithuanian (lt) keymap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xkeyboard-config/+bug/718693/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

If Ubuntu developers don't have time to fix xserver-xorg-video-sis package, then this package should be removed from Ubuntu 12.10 and newer releases (including Ubuntu 12.04.3), because then users can use Ubuntu desktop at least - vesa driver works fine on SIS hardware, but xserver- xorg-video-sis doesn't work at all since Ubuntu 12.10 :( Another case is automatically create /etc/X11/xorg.conf file with Option NoAccel true when SIS chipset is detected. AFAIK problem is because Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 doesn't use intel X driver on Intel i845 (82845G) and i855 devices, but uses fbdev instead. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 590504] Re: [arrandale] Integrated intel graphics GMA HD doesn't work
I'm happy to present working solution for integrated Intel HD Graphics (GMA HD) running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS: 1. Install new versions of libdrm*, lib*mesa* and xserver-xorg-video-intel packages from ppa:ubuntu-fi or ppa:baltix (see https://launchpad.net/~baltix/+archive ) repository 2. Install new Linux kernel 2.6.38 image (linux-image-generic-lts-backport-natty) from ppa:baltix-members (see https://launchpad.net/~baltix-members/+archive ) or ppa:kernel-ppa 3. restart Ubuntu 10.04 operating system :) I've updated xserver-xorg-video-intel and libdrm* packages from these repositories and can confirm that this solution fixed *all* video driver problems on my Dell Latitude E5520 notebook with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU and integrated Intel HD Graphics second generation (VGA controller: Intel Corporation Device 0116 (rev 09) )! I'm using new libdrm*, lib*mesa* and xserver-xorg-video-intel packages from ppa:ubuntu-fi (or ppa:baltix) repository for 2 days and haven't noticed any problems :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590504 Title: [arrandale] Integrated intel graphics GMA HD doesn't work ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
