[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 554835] Re: [855GM] GPU hang when an application tries to use XVideo
Just tried kernel 2.6.32-24-generic and everything is still crashing the exact same. So I'll keep running some 2.6.34 PPA kernel as a workaround. -- [855GM] GPU hang when an application tries to use XVideo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554835 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 554835] Re: [855GM] GPU hang when an application tries to use XVideo
I found the following wiki page useful: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Bugs/Lucidi8xxFreezes It seems to basically contains the information already posted in this bug, but presented (in a much clearer way). I am surprised that this bug is undecided. Maybe I do not understand the meaning of this field. I am also surprised that any distribution keeps distributing such new, totally untested software from Intel. Every time I upgrade Ubuntu it is becoming more and more difficult to make my laptop usable.
