[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1288301] [NEW] NVIDIA Grapics Card seemingly not present

Public bug reported:

I'm using an Acer Aspire V5-573G, which should come with an NVIDIA
GeForce GT 750M - 4 GB DDR3 . However, it doesn't show under additional
drivers and a request in the terminal only shows an intel chipset.

I am no technician and very new to Ubuntu, so any kind of help would be
appreciated.

Hi Daniel,

tks for your swift reply. Read that article already suspecting something 
of the kind. So, installing Bumblebee should clear the issue, even if I 
have no switching option in my BIOS?

 This is not a bug. You have a hybrid/Optimus GPU configuration and you
 can't install the nvidia driver directly on such a system because it
 would break the intel 3D driver.
