Public bug reported: I have many bugs with Ubuntu. I'm a new user. Installation was a success but some applications don't work well. I can't turn off my computer, I have to restart it manually and after I can do shutdown, sometimes it's working if "sudo shutdown now". Now I have an error message : "Error: brokencount>0". Moreover I fixed a lot of little problems. I was really excited to use ubuntu but now I feel disappointed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 676805] [NEW] Acer Aspire 5742z: xorg fails to start after install
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I got a text based boot up and login prompt after installing Maverick on an Acer Aspire 5742z, the live session worked well (video wise). Every time I try to start x it simply fails. It works in low graphics mode. I tried Natty Narwhal pre Alpha and got the same, live session works, actual install doesn't. Sometimes when I close some dropdown menus they don't disappear completely.
