2012-07-19 Thread Nate Wiebe
@ddadap: I've been following this page:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing Under "Backtrace with gdb". Could
you please make sure that these steps are fine, and also tell me how to
make sure that I have debugging symbols installed and capture the "DSO
load base of nvidia_drv.so within X". I want this bug closed as soon as
possible and would be glad to provide any information I can.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 973096] [NEW] Nvidia driver causes xorg crash

2012-04-03 Thread Nate Wiebe
Public bug reported:

When using 12.04, X will crash and send me to the login screen. This can
happen when working, or when the computer is idle.

I'm using version 295.33. I remember getting the same crash occuring on
11.10 when I upgraded to version 295.20 [version before 295.33], but
this may or may not be the same bug.

2011-10-19 Thread Nate Wiebe
Confirming using the x-swat ppa. Should be version 285.05.09. I have
great performance, except when dragging windows around, there is around
1 second of delay for the window to move.

I am running fully up to date 11.10 x64 on a System76 Serp6 with an
NVIDIA GTX285m.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 494166] Re: [lucid] nvidia-glx can't work with new xorg 7.5

2009-12-15 Thread Nate Wiebe
Shouldn't nvidia-glx-190 be added since it is the latest stable? Plus by
then there will most likely be a newer stable release anyways. The 190
drivers from the nvidia-vdpau ppa have not been updated yet for xorg
7.5. There are 195 drivers (beta) that don't conflict, but they do not
show up in Hardware Drivers for activation.
