i tried to install the proprietary drivers for my nvidia graphics card
on my fresh installed Lubuntu 12.04. The installation failed and i shall
read the log-file for more information /var/log/jockey.log


the following is the content of 
/var/lib/dkms/nvidia-current-updates/295.49/build/make.log

i had the same problem on Lubuntu 12.04. 
Somehow binutils was installed, but ld wasn't. I reinstalled binutils with 

sudo apt-get install --reinstall binutils
