[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1632740] Re: Screen distorts after a period of use, may crash kernel
Well, unfortunatly, upgrading to 1.8 disables both the bluetooth module and touchscreen on my device(Asus T300 chi), leaving me with no input options. I suppose that's a separate problem, but it's rather hard to file. I'll try to find my adapter, borrow a USB keyboard from someone and file it. I'll update this bug then, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632740 Title: Screen distorts after a period of use, may crash kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1632740/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1632593] Re: Xorg does not utilize the 3D graphics acceleration capabilities of my device
I reinstalled the package, no dice. I then looked around for it, and found that it had been renamed to old.libgbm1.so, along with the file it linked to. I renamed both, removing the "old.", and now 3D works. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 689676] [NEW] Ubuntu freezes at Plymouth
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau When trying to boot the LiveCD, or an Ubuntu 10.10 installation upgraded from 10.04, the computer completely freezes. I can get in by adding nomodeset to the boot options. After installing the proprietary nVidia driver, everything works as expected. I've tested this with both 10.10, and the latest daily of 11.04. This is the same as a bug I reported earlier, bug #632231, but since that one got off-track I've marked it as invalid, and submitted this report with what I hope is a clearer description of the bug, and hope to have a good cooperation and get it solved. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 507196] Re: [i945gme] Ubuntu falls back on vesa driver (no screens)
@Geir Unfortunately, neither kernel offered any improvement. I tested the latest mainline .33 kernel and the feb. 24. build of drm-intel-next. -- [i945gme] Ubuntu falls back on vesa driver (no screens) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 515732] Re: Kernel modesetting makes the screen go blank
** Summary changed: - The screen turns off after GRUB + Kernel modesetting makes the screen go blank ** Description changed: The screen goes COMPLETELY black after GRUB. It doesn't just show a black image, it dies completely. The HDD light continues to blink for a while, and it seems that everything is loaded behind the veil of blackness. This happens with kernels 2.6.32-11-generic, and 2.6.32-12-generic(The latest kernel at the time of writing). It does not happen with kernels 2.6.32-10-generic and earlier, though it should probably be mentioned that nothing but VESA has been able to get me to a GUI so far. - EDIT: It works with nomodeset, but this definitely isn't optimal. Also, - I'm back to normal graphics drivers with the latest kernel. + EDIT: It works with nomodeset, but this definitely isn't optimal.
