[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 486214] [NEW] Jockey fails to install nvidia on multiple kernels
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-185-kernel-source Using kernels 2.6.31-15-generic and 2.6.31-9-rt. When installing nvidia using jockey on the -generic kernel, it installs only for the currently running kernel. When booting the other kernel, starting X fails with an nvidia module not found error. You have to manually run dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-XXX-kernel-source to have it properly installed on the other kernel. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jockey fails to install nvidia on multiple kernels https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 436394] Re: touchpad middle button tapping with two fingers opens the right mouse button menu (eee 901/ibm t43) karmic
Thanks for your report. In recent versions, the middle and right buttons have been inverted. You now have to tap with 3 fingers to get middle click. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- touchpad middle button tapping with two fingers opens the right mouse button menu (eee 901/ibm t43) karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/436394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 430865] Re: Screen starts flickering when dkms autoinstalls nvidia on linux-2.6.31-5-rt
@franc00018: I know, but I think such an error is kind of unexpected. The module refusing to build, or to load when starting X, would not really annoy me (I run the -rt kernel when recording music, so I don't really need HW acceleration). But messing up the display when building (or more precisely, when triggering the module build) seems kind of weird... -- Screen starts flickering when dkms autoinstalls nvidia on linux-2.6.31-5-rt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/430865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 430865] Re: Screen starts flickering when dkms autoinstalls nvidia on linux-2.6.31-5-rt
I think I can confirm this is nvidia-related, as I just tried to remove the nvidia proprietary driver, and the -rt kernel now boots just fine. (it is not due to the latest -rt upgrade as I tried to boot it without removing the driver, and the issue was still present). Could anyone with the appropriate knowledge please give directions on additional information to provide to further identify the origin of this bug ?
