Again my apologies to everyone for hijacking this thread, But since people are asking, and I was able to solve the backlight problem after days of pain, here are the instructions. I have the same problem here. And i also noticed that if rhythmbox is playng, when i maximize, or open some programs the sound stops for a couple of seconds. I have Ubuntu 9.04 and my graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400.
