[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1558978] Re: Black rendering of Qt Desktop and window components
I'm closing this for now until I know more. 1.18.2 did not help with this, but instead I tried a daily build live session and there the rendering was fine. So it looks like something went wrong in the upgrade from trusty. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1558978 Title: Black rendering of Qt Desktop and window components To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1558978/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1558978] Re: Black rendering of Qt Desktop and window components
So, I tried some settings by now, and I get the same result using the generic modesetting driver with glamor, so this is probably unrelated to radeon and rather something in glamor / something else in the opengl stack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1558978 Title: Black rendering of Qt Desktop and window components To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1558978/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1558978] [NEW] Black rendering of Qt Desktop and window components
Public bug reported: I tried upgrading a Kubuntu machine with an ATi GPU to Xenial which results in the attached screenshot. SDDM, ksplash, plasma background, panel and Icons are rendered Black, while the text still shows fine. QWidget based applications like dolphin look fine, so this looks like Gallium fails to render QML components properly? Public bug reported: When I plug in a second Monitor using a DisplayPort cable, the system becomes barely responsive (all you can do is move the mouse very slow) and [kworker/1:2] is using 100% CPU in top. A few seconds after pulling the cable out the system works normally again. Filing this against the driver and not the kernel as the nvidia driver works somewhat fine. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 865885] Re: implement proper clipboard in wayland
I'm not usually using windows so I don't know what windows users expect from a clipboard, and I'm not particulary affected by bug 11334 as KDE has a clipboard manager running by default, but I do want to remind people that there are a lot of linux users that _like_ the selection based clipboard behaiour. Interestingly, Klipper manages to provide a working ctrl-c/v clipboard while still allowing selection based copy and paste. So it shouldn't be impossible to provide both as I do agree that the current situation needs to be improved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to wayland in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/865885 Title: implement proper clipboard in wayland To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wayland/+bug/865885/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 760632] Re: Resizing Konsole crashes the whole system
I'm not part of the Ubuntu X team, so I don't know why this isn't getting an SRU, but please don't mess around with the driver script from nvidia unless you know exactly what you're doing. Also, the driver from nvidia isn't supported in ubuntu, so please don't suggest it (at least not here in the bug tracker). The best workaround currently is adding 'ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates' to your sources, which has an updated driver for natty (280.13 right now). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/760632 Title: Resizing Konsole crashes the whole system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/760632/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 811701] Re: Nvidia driver unfunctional in oneiric since 2011-07-17
Ok, the problem seems to be that nouveau gets loaded even though it's blacklisted.
