[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1134466] Re: Update request and SRU request - Update to Mesa 9.0.3 stable

2013-02-27 Thread Philip Wyett
One reason for the update:

On Mesa 9.0 and 9.0.2. Intel hardware is not handling
GL_ANY_SAMPLES_PASSED_ARB as it has not been correctly implemented. This
has been corrected in 9.0.3.

This can be seen in the bleeding edge svn of the Crystal Space game
engine.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1102238] Re: x crashes a bit when booting

2013-02-24 Thread Philip Wyett
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1121179] Re: Ubuntu 12.04.2 alternate AMD 64 ISO image Feb 10 installing mesa 8.0.4 not 9.0.0 - LTS quantal

2013-02-10 Thread Philip Wyett
This is todays 12.04.2 ISO image for QA testing before release. This
release wil have a new kernel and X/mesa bits.

See: https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack

If the LTS quantal 3.5.0 kernel as part of this point release is being
instaled, then other newer components above should also be.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1009629] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in DeliverRawEvent()

2012-07-01 Thread Philip Wyett
The proposed update when installed on precise will stop glx loading on systems
that have the NVIDIA 173.14.35 driver installed. The 10.2 package is fine and
works well with the driver in question.

2012-06-05 Thread Philip Wyett
There is a new 173 version.

ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/173.14.35/

I have installed this on kubuntu (32bit) and have glx again; and the
driver seems to be working correctly.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 948053] Re: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise

2012-05-20 Thread Philip Wyett
On the 173.14.34 driver we have an issue. I have manually installed it
on a 12.04 system and 'glx' does not load.

See: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2557504

The 2D does and the driver installs and runs Ok, just no 3D, which tends
to be a problem. :-)
