I have a Lenovo W500 with Radeon HD3650 card running Ubuntu 9.04. My xorg version is 1.6.0 The problem of slow unminizing, etc with desktop effects enabled is now solved after applying XServer with no backfill functionality from the below link: https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/xserver-no-backfill However, I am facing a new problem now. The problem is, whenever I reduce the resolution, the screen size shrinks from all the 4 sides rather than changing the resolution.
