Hi Bryce, In Precise the issue seems to be resolved, as well as in Quantal. I can attach my TV through my S-Video cable, and it works excellent. I do not have to reboot anymore, it works right away! With the latest kernel update 3.2.0.27.29 the problems seems mostly fixed. If you boot the computer with the svideo cable attached then the tv is recognized and a display appears. Awesome!!! No more booting to Windows for watching a movie on my tv (Always proof for my buddies that linux sucked...) Anyway, hotplugging the cable does not yet work. Same problem as before. Everything is recognized, but tv screen stays black. Issue still present in 12.04. Attached dmesg and xorg.0.log Problem is that when I connect SVGA-out cable to laptop and TV, the screen stays black. I can see it flicker when it tries to detect it, the system can see the tv but there is no image on the TV.
