I can confirm this bug too. I try to install ubuntu 10.10 in my Asus GJ51 with an Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M video card and, after choosing "install ubuntu", the screen shows multiples little squares of video noise (I don't find a best description) so I'm not allowed to do nothing. To "resolve" this, I perform the following steps:
1.- I must install ubuntu using the Alternative iso. 2.- In console mode, disable the noveau drivers. 3.- Download the official nvidia. 4.- Install the official drivers. So, with no post installation actions , I'm not able to install nor use Ubuntu. :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/689507 Title: Doesn't support Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
