I can confirm this bug too. I try to install ubuntu 10.10 in my Asus
GJ51 with an Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M video card and, after choosing
"install ubuntu", the screen shows multiples little squares of video
noise (I don't find a best description) so I'm not allowed to do
nothing. To "resolve" this, I perform the following steps:

1.- I  must install ubuntu using the Alternative iso.
2.- In console mode, disable the noveau drivers.
3.- Download the official nvidia.
4.- Install the official drivers. 

So, with no post installation actions , I'm not able to install nor use
Ubuntu. :(
